Latest Manumanu project happenings

Manumanu Project stems from Dr. Brad Balukjian's graduate school research, in which he worked with fifth-graders in the Pao Pao elementary school on Moorea to collect plant bugs. That research has now been summarized in this new paper in the journal Insect Systematics and Diversity, published by the Entomological Society of America. Dr. Balukjian and his collaborator Dr. Matthew Van Dam describe 17 species of Pseudoloxops plant bugs new to science, the majority of which were given their scientific names (translated from Tahitian) by students in Pao Pao, with the collaboration of Hinano Murphy of Te Pu Atitia.
