WHAT WE KNOW

KnowledgeBase Contributors

Many scientists from various institutions and countries have been working in Moorea for some time. Consequently, Moorea is one of the best known tropical islands in the world. Furthermore, this knowledgebase is expanding at an accelerating rate. Our intention here is thus to provide access to as much of this knowledge as possible. Although we are doing our best to incorporate everything, we apologize in advance for inevitable omissions. We are grateful for all suggestions and contributions to this section. The knowledgebase is meant as a resource for everyone interested in Moorea and we rely on your help to make it as comprehensive as possible.

E-journal

Historic knowledge is important but can be difficult to access (predating the digital revolution). Research being done today and in the future benefits from new internet-based tools. To take advantage of the latest online document-management systems, we are working with our partners in the Moorea Research Consortium initiative on a system of automated project application and report submission. This will be a service and a resource for all researchers working out of the two stations on Moorea. The system is modeled on e-journal publishing systems and thus current project abstracts and reports should be readily accessible with full-text search capabilities. Papers published in peer-reviewed journals will also be accessible (subject to copyright restrictions).
