Nearest Bank: Banque de Tahiti in Maharepa. Located at PK 5.  Open 8-5pm. Closed 12-2pm.

Nearest Grocery Store:  Supermarche Are. Located in PaoPao at PK 9.5. Open 8-6pm. Closed 12-2pm

Biggest Grocery Store:  Champion Toa, the Costco of moorea stores.  Located at PK 5 past the Ferry Terminal.  Open 8-6pm

Nearest Post Office: at PK 5 in Maharepa. Open 8-5pm. Closed 12-2pm.

Nearest PO Box: At Supermarche Are.

Hardware Store: 

Airport: at PK 0 on the northeast corner of the island.

Ferry Terminal: At PK 4 all the moorea-papeete ferries arrive.

Fish Market:  PaoPao Fish Co-Op. Fresh caught fish. Best to come early 5-8am. Open again in the afternoon as the late boats come back in.  PK 9.3

 

Best Ice Cream:  In Maharepa at PK 5 in the same complex as the Bank and Post Office. Closes at 5pm.

2nd Best Ice Cream:  In Haapiti at PK 27 across from the Hotel Moorea.  Closes at 5pm.

Best View of Moorea:  From the top of Mt. Rotui. See the Moorea Adventure guide.

Best View of Moorea to Drive to: Belvedere Lookout.  At the end of the Opunohu Valley Road. PK 18.2 turnoff of main road, watch for sign.

Best Drive:  Though Opunohu Valley.  PK 18.2 turnoff, watch for sign.

Best Pizza: Arguably

2nd Best Pizza: The small cart just before the Sheraton on the right-hand side of the road.  Pizza is cheap and good.

Best Cheap Food:  Buy some fish at the Paopao co-op and a  bagette and make your own fish sandwich. PK 9.3 for the fish market.

Funnest Place to Eat: During Heiva or During the Carnival. Or try the floating boat, The Linareva in Haapiti, PK 23 from the Ferry terminal.

Best Event not to miss:  Heiva during August.  It’s a big festival that happens throughout the towns in French Polynesia.  There is one in PaoPao.  The crepes are to die for.

2ND Best Event not to miss:  Carnival, during the month of November.  Check it out in Papeete during the weekend.

Best Night Club: In Papeete, the Manhattan Club.
